Burkhart’s Practice Support Team receives calls and emails every day from offices regarding their business questions and needs. In each issue of Catalyst, we’ll compile some of the most frequently asked questions and share our insight with you.

Our morning huddle started off well years ago, but now it’s turned into a time to give the life history of each patient and that’s it. How do we get back on track?

Consider using a huddle form to relay important information. The huddle should start on time and take no longer than 15 minutes. Each clinical team member notes any specific information the entire team needs to know, such as possible perio transitions, TLC concerns, charting needs, special events such as a birthday, etc. The front office team member can note if the team is on track to meet production goals and the amount of production scheduled for today, next openings in hygiene and restorative, and patients with a history of N/S appointments that it would be best not to preschedule. Having a clear agenda and role for team members can get you back on track quickly!
