Burkhart launches Dental Forum

Dental Forum group

Burkhart’s  Practice Support Team is excited to be facilitating a Dentist’s Forum.  The nine-member forum made up of dental professionals as well as Burkhart strategic alliance partners met for the first time September 11-12th in Portland, OR.  Forum members include:

From left to right: Larry Ebstein, Dr. Jay Rohloff, Dr. Jacob Brown, Eric Shirley, Dr. Kory Wilson, Dr. Lynne Gerlach, and Dr. Tim Herman

The Panel was asked to identify the main challenges dental professionals face, consider best practices and information sharing mechanisms, as well as topics that are at the forefront  of the dental professional’s mind.  The goal of the Forum is to ensure  that  Burkhart  is  able  to  provide  useful insight to the dental community  and  determine  the  best  way  to  support the community from a business as well as clinical stand point.  The Forum heard from three speakers during the two days: Joe Martin, Technology Specialist from Burkhart’s Western Washington Branch spoke about Technology for Clinical Excellence; Kamyar Nasseh, PhD Health Economist from the Health Policy Institute at the ADA spoke regarding Dentistry as A Profession in Transition; and Wenche Borgnakke,DDS MPH PhD from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry spoke on the Oral Systemic Connection.  The Forum has drafted recommendations for Burkhart and will meet again in March to work through action steps and additional planning.  Thank you to our speakers and our Forum members for two productive days!
