Healthy Fish Taco Recipe for Cinco de Mayo

Maintaining a healthy diet can positively impact your oral health. That is why we are sharing a healthy recipe for you to try out this Cinco de Mayo!

Healthy Fish Taco Recipe– Adapted from Men’s Health magazine

Fish Tacos

Here is what you need:
½ Cup light sour cream
3 Limes
1 Tbsp. finely chopped chipotle pepper in adobo sauce
Fresh cilantro
1 lb. tilapia, mahi-mahi, or halibut
1/2Tbsp Chili Powder or all spice
Salt & pepper
8 soft corn tortillas
1 Cup finely shredded cabbage
1 Avocado peeled, pitted and thinly sliced.


  1.  Thoroughly preheat a grill pan on medium high.
  2. Mix together sour cream with the juice of one lime, the chipotle pepper and a handful of chopped fresh cilantro.  Set aside
  3. Drizzle a light coating of oil over the fish and rub the chili powder and a pinch of salt and pepper.  Place the fish in the pan or grill and cook undisturbed, for 4 minutes.  Carefully flip with a spatula and cook for another 4 minutes.  Remove.  Before turning off the grill, warm the tortillas  directly on the surface for 1 or 2 minutes.
  4. Divide the fish evenly among the warm tortillas, add a bit of cabbage, spoon on the sour cream mixture, and top with avocado slices and fresh cilantro. Serve each taco with a wedge of lime.  This recipe makes 8 tacos.
